What Exactly Does One Get To Study In Biotechnology? What Is The Scope Of Btech Biotechnology?

I am a PCB student CBSE XII std and am not interested in Medical field. What are the options after doing BTech Biotechnology or Bio informatics? Any other options that you can suggest would be welcome.

   keeping in vew the limited resources in nature, scientists are developing bio-related tech to improve the effciencey of the nature gifted resources. viz. today a seed which is sown in 1acre of land suppose gives 1000kg. of rice they are using biotech. for developing seeds which would give 3000-4000kg of rice in the same amount of land. this is just an example there are many other examples too!!!!!!!

   Biotechnology means :”any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.”
   Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial areas, including health care, crop production and agriculture, non food uses of crops (e.g. biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses.
   Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field which addresses biological problems using computational techniques, and makes the rapid organization and analysis of biological data possible.
   Biotech is very much in demand now a days. Biotech engineers are more in demand in foreign countries. You can easily join a foreign univ. and do research work there.

   Biotechnology is a vast field and has lot of scope. Jobs exist in R&D as well as for managerial tasks. BSc., B.Tech etc. are various courses available at the graduation level.
   After BSc. one can go for MSc. in Biotechnology. MSc. in Biotechnology has good career prospects. Biotech is a booming sector and the growth oppurtunities are high. The Biotech sector includes - Biopharma, Biotech, Biotech services, Bioindustrial, Bioinformatics etc. After BSc., those who want to go for research, choose MSc. and then go for Phd. On the other hand, some go for MBA-Biotechnology. Career oppurtunities for both these courses are good.
   After doing MSc. Biotech, one can join R&D dept. of any good Biotech company. US is the best destination for Biotechnology. It stands out in the field of research as well as the biotech market is much developed in the US. Similar, is the case with UK, Canada and a few EU countries. Coming to India and China, these countries are really trying hard. Australia is good study destination as well for BT studies in Asia-Pacific region.    well buddy its a science dealin wid the development thts goin 2 me a major success in race of human development.it is one of the most developing subjects of world.it is a major cause in developments being brought today.one gets 2 study abt the genome,genetics,body basics, structures dealing wid both animal and wid plants at ultra 2 major levels.
   the scope is a huge one.one can get into fields like agriculture tech,genetics,pharma,govt research ccompanies etc.
   well as a student of biotech i can suggest u its a good field but its not at a major scale in india but is developing at a huge rate will develop huge in next 5 years but its most major subject abroad.
   u can try in other fields such as pharma or other applied medicos or can choose other graduation fields.
