Younis Khan is making all the wrong statements. A few days before he said Pakistan is ‘in a state of war’ (How true! Well said, Younis) which didn’t go down well with PCB. Now after the defeat against England he said “It would be sad if we don’t make it but I have never attached too much importance to Twenty20 cricket, as it is fun cricket.” (A bit of Aussie trait there, when they lost they said it’s ‘mickey mouse cricket). Even this didn’t go down well. A board official is quoted as saying, “The statement has not pleased anyone, including former Test players and critics because it shows a total lack of respect for the feelings of the people and the passion with which they are following the performance of their team in the World Cup,”
A former Test player, on condition of anonymity, questioned Younis’ integrity, “If he is not interested in playing Twenty20 cricket then why did he go to England in the first place?” http://cricketnext.in.com/news/younis-tu…
There are also reports that Younis Khan and coach Intikhab Alam no longer see eye to eye as Younis is unhappy with Intikhab’s outdated style of coaching. http://cricketnext.in.com/news/pakistan-…
Pakistan cricket always has been in turmoil, and the latest events promises more action. Heads will role after this T20 WC, especially if Pakistan fails to make the Super-8 stage. Who is in more trouble here? Your thoughts?
